(3.5-4.0 DUPR) Intermediate Clinic with Coach Q

Intermediate Pickleball Clinic (DUPR 3.5 – 4.5)

This clinic focuses on refining the core elements that separate solid intermediate players from truly tournament‑ready competitors. Over this first 90 minute clinic—we’ll blend skill work with live situational play so you can convert technique into on‑court confidence.

Who Should Attend

Players hovering in the 3.5 to low‑4s who:

  • Consistently keep the ball in play but need better precision against stronger competition.

  • Can execute a drop or a drive but struggle to decide which one under pressure.

  • Want to move from “steady” to “strategic,” converting more points at the net.

  • Aspire to league or tournament success and need a roadmap to the 4.5 level.

What We’ll Cover

  1. Serve & Return Variety
Learn how spin, depth, and placement set the tone for every rally. We’ll explore ways to keep opponents guessing while ensuring you can still drive—or drop—your own third shot.

  2. Third‑Shot Decision‑Making
Master the “drop versus drive” choice. You’ll practice recognizing court positions and defensive tendencies so you instinctively pick the higher‑percentage option in real time.

  3. Transition Zone Footwork
Moving from the baseline to the kitchen is where most rallies are won or lost at this level. We’ll reinforce split steps, soft resets, and confidence in handling fastballs while you advance.

  4. Net‑Play Precision
Build consistency in dinking, attackable dink recognition, and punch volleys. The emphasis is on creating pressure without over‑swinging and learning when to finish versus when to reset.

  5. Offensive Lobs & Smashes
We’ll cover when a lofted ball is a smart surprise and how to convert overheads with balance and authority—without losing the net if the point continues.

  6. Partner Positioning & Stacking Basics
Understanding how to maximize each partner’s strengths (especially forehands down the middle) is crucial at DUPR 3.5+. We’ll introduce simple stacking patterns and the communication required to use them smoothly.

  7. Situational Strategy & Mental Toughness
Through short game sets, you’ll practice shot‑selection discipline, momentum management, and adapting a plan when opponents change tactics.
